  •  India posted 255/5, the highest total in a T20 World Cup final.

  • Jasprit Bumrah delivered a match-winning spell with 4 wickets for just 15 runs.

  • Abhishek Sharma smashed a rapid 50 off 18 balls in the powerplay.

  • India national cricket team defeated New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs to become T20 World Cup 2026 champions.

What a Day for Indian Cricket

Oh my god. India did it. They are the T20 World Cup champions again. It was the best day ever for all Indian fans. They played against New Zealand in the final match at the Ahmedabad stadium. You won’t believe what happened. India scored a bazillion runs and won by 96 runs. It was so awesome to watch on TV with my family.

The Indian team was so brave. They remembered the sad day in 2023 when they lost the ODI World Cup final at the same place. But this time they were not sad. They were happy. They beat the Black Caps and made everyone proud. My dad was jumping and shouting so loudly.

India Bat First and Hit So Many Sixes

The winning team asked India to bat first, and New Zealand did so. They made a significant error out of that. Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, our seamers, performed like characters. They began to hit the ball all over. The bowlers in New Zealand were unsure of their move.

In just the first six overs, India scored 92 runs. That is the highest score in the powerplay in the whole World Cup. Samson and Sharma were both hitting fours and sixes like they were playing a video game. Sharma got his fifty in just 18 balls. That is super fast. My little brother can’t even count to 18 that fast.

Sanju Samson is My New Hero

Sanju Samson played the best innings I have ever seen. He scored 89 runs from only 46 balls. He hit five fours and eight sixes. Eight sixes, can you imagine? The ball went flying into the crowd so many times. One ball almost hit a man eating his snacks.

Samson got his third fifty in a row in the World Cup. That is very hard to do. He became only the second player ever to score three times 80-plus runs in the T20 World Cup. The other guy was from Sri Lanka a long time ago. Samson is so cool. I want to bat like him when I play with my friends.

India Total Was Huge

India finished their innings with 255 runs and lost only five wickets. That is the highest score ever in a T20 World Cup final. Can you believe it? They hit 19 fours and 18 sixes in total. That means 184 runs just from boundaries. My maths teacher would be happy I calculated that.

Additionally, Ishan Kishan’s acting was excellent. From 25 balls, he scored 54 runs. Four toes and four innings were his hits. The New Zealand batsmen appeared exhausted. In only two overs, one spinner named Lockie Ferguson registered 48 runs. That many works is. He looked like he wanted to go home because his mouth was so funny.

New Zealand Chase Was Not Good

New Zealand had to score 256 runs to win. That is like climbing a really tall mountain with no shoes on. They started very badly. Our bowlers were too good for them. Axar Patel got the first wicket. Then Jasprit Bumrah, he is my favorite bowler, he got wickets too.

Bumrah took four wickets and only gave 15 runs in his four overs. That is amazing. Nobody has ever taken four wickets in a T20 World Cup final before. He is the best bowler in the whole world, I think. His bowling action is so funny but he bowls so fast.

Only One Player Fought For New Zealand

Tim Seifert was the only New Zealand player who played well. He scored 52 runs from 26 balls. He hit five innings. But finally, our spinner Varun Chakaravarthy got him out. Chakaravarthy took 14 wickets in the whole World Cup. That is more than everyone else.

After Seifert got out, the other New Zealand participants tried, but they couldn’t score quickly enough. They got all out for 159 runs in 19 wickets. We won by 96 runs. The audience was so joyful. Folks were waving flags and dancing.

Amid this uncertainty, recent on-field performances have served as a reminder of cricket’s ability to shift narratives through sheer excellence. Jacob Bethell’s Ashes heroics in Sydney, which played a crucial role in England’s fightback, showcased how individual brilliance can momentarily rise above off-field tensions and refocus attention on the game itself.

India Made So Many Records

India did so many first things in this match. Listen to this.

They are the first team to win the T20 World Cup two times in a row. They won last time, and now they have won again. Nobody else did that before.

They are the first team to win a T20 World Cup in their own home country. The crowd helped them a lot by cheering.

They have now won three T20 World Cups total. That is more than any other country.

Poor New Zealand. They have lost five finals in the last 11 years. That must feel very sad. But they played well to reach the final. Better luck next time, New Zealand.

The Best Team Won

India was the best team in the whole tournament. They only lost one match in the last two T20 World Cups. That is so good. All the players worked together like a team. The batsmen scored runs, and the bowlers took wickets.
